Dr. Deborah Sweet - Veterinarian
Dr. Deborah Sweet grew up in Fond du Lac, WI. She had a strong interest in both animals and medicine from childhood as her father was a human ophthalmologist and her grandfather and great-grandfather were both veterinarians.
She reared tadpoles into frogs, tended injured wild bunnies, and read every animal book she could find in the library. Dr. Sweet received her B.A. in biology from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1992 and graduated from veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin in 1996. She practiced in veterinary hospitals in Oregon and Wisconsin, as well as establishing her own house call practice, prior to moving to North Carolina in 2014. She believes in treating her patients as she would her own to provide the best quality medical care. Dr. Sweet’s professional passions include ophthalmology, internal medicine, and geriatric and hospice patient care.
Away from the hospital, Dr. Sweet loves spending time with her husband, John, and two children, Owen and Sydney. She enjoys spending as much time as she can outdoors especially hiking, swimming, gardening, and traveling. Her animal family includes two very mixed breed dogs, Webster and Bailey.
