How Do We Diagnose Illnesses
Noah’s Ark Veterinary Hospital provides advanced digital x-ray technology for our client’s pets.. X-rays are a common test for diagnosing many problems associated with your pet’s health. X-rays can be used to determine the location and severity of fractures, identify signs of heart disease, identify foreign bodies in your pet’s stomach and much more.
Digital x-ray technology allows us to produce high-quality, high-resolution x-ray images more quickly than film x-rays, leading to fewer x-rays (and less stress) for your pet. These images also can be emailed or saved to a disc, allowing for rapid consultations with specialists, if necessary.
Sometimes laboratory tests must be used to diagnose your pet’s problem. Noah’s Ark Veterinary Hospital can do in house diagnostic laboratory testing as well as using the services of an outside reference laboratory for all other lab tests. We receive twice-daily pickup service, which means we receive your pet’s results on the same day, resulting in fast treatment for your pet.
Ultrasound is an imaging technique that uses sound waves to provide a real-time moving image of your pet’s internal organs. This procedure is particularly useful for diagnosing abdominal and cardiac problems and can also be used to detect abdominal fluid, cancer, foreign bodies and other diseases. We utilize board certified specialists to perform the non invasive procedure when we feel it is required.
Noah’s Ark is can offer extensive cardiac diagnostic services to our clients. We use electrocardiograms (ECGs) to monitor the function of your pet’s heart. Using ECGs, we can detect abnormalities in your pet’s heart rhythm and watch for signs of heart disease.
