Regular Health Examinations
Regular examinations are an integral part of your pet's health care. Exams help us detect and treat medical problems early on, before they become more difficult and expensive to treat and decrease your pet's overall quality of life.
We recommend all pets undergo a complete examination at least once a year, though more frequent exams are encouraged. We perform a "nose-to-tail" examination of your pet. The information we obtain during an exam helps us establish your pet's baseline level of health and allows us to more easily diagnose and treat future problems. Examinations are also a great way for us to develop an individual relationship with you and your pet.
Exotic Pet Health Care
Noah's Ark Veterinary Hospital is capable of providing medical care for your exotic pet. We see a limited number of small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, pocket pets, etc.) and reptiles at our practice. We may refer more complicated exotic pet medical cases to a local exotic pet specialist.
Pet Identification - Microchipping
Pet identification is a must! But sometimes a sturdy collar and ID tag aren't enough. Microchipping your pet is a safe, easy way to help ensure that your pet returns home should he or she become lost.
Microchips are encoded with unique identifying information for your pet. Veterinary hospitals and animal shelters across the country are equipped with special scanners capable of detecting and reading microchips. Data on the microchip corresponds to a national database of pet information. If your pet is lost, his or her microchip is scanned and the information it contains is used to reunite you and your best friend.
We use the American Kennel Club's Companion Animal Recovery microchip system. Please ask our staff for details about microchipping your pet.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to keep your pet healthy. Advances in veterinary medicine mean that many diseases once fatal to pets can now be prevented through the use of vaccinations.
Your pet is unique, and his or her vaccination plan should be similarly one-of-a-kind. We vaccinate based on your pet's lifestyle and other risk factors. However, in general, we recommend a 3-year vaccination protocol for dogs and cats. Dr. Rosenoff and Dr. Edwards-Seal will work with you to develop a vaccination plan that's right for your pet.
Dietary Planning
A healthy diet is a vital part of your dog or cat's health. We help you develop a dietary plan for all the stages of your pet's life. As part of the plan, we take into account proper weight maintenance, performance, growth and disease prevention and treatment. At Noah's Ark Veterinary Hospital, we recommend a holistic approach to nutrition for pets. We carry and recommend Precise Plus holistic dog and cat food. For specific conditions, we offer special prescription diets from Purina, Hill's Pet Nutrition, Royal Canin and Eukanuba.
Veterinary Dermatology
Noah's Ark Veterinary Hospital is capable of treating a variety of veterinary dermatology cases. Skin conditions, allergies, and other dermatological problems your pet may experience can be treated by our trained veterinarians and veterinary hospital staff.
Life Stage Wellness
As pets age, they develop different health care needs. A playful puppy requires different care than an older dog, and this makes individualized treatment for your pet important.
Noah's Ark Veterinary Hospital offers complete care options for pets of all ages. We have formulated special wellness programs for puppies and kittens, as well as older dogs and cats. No matter what life stage your pet is in, we can develop a health care plan that takes into account his or her unique needs.
Pet Dental Care
Your pet's dental care is extremely important! Clean teeth and healthy gums prevent periodontal disease and increases your pet's overall health. Noah's Ark Veterinary Hospital of Cary, NC offers complete dental care for dogs and cats, including dental cleanings, tooth extractions and oral surgery. We utilize digital dental x-ray equipment and comprehensive endodontic equipment in order to provide high-quality veterinary dental care for your pet.
